What a way to start.

Where is that screw?

While I had a bit of down time in Canada, I thought I would do some of the mods that I wanted for the trip - risers, trailer harness and fog lights. I started with the risers and proceeded to drop the temporary spacer and screw down into the engine. The replacement spacer I made went down there too! I tore the front off the bike to look for the lost components, to no avail. But this allowed me to adjust the cruise control (I think) and reminded me to change the oil. I only had to buy the oil change stuff, including a filter wrench. For the rest of it, my father-in-law has a well equipped work shop.

I did drop a screw from the mirror down in there too but was able to retrieve it with a magnet on the end of some pliers. Anyway, I got it all back together and took it for a shakedown run. Nothing seemed to have dropped out or get caught up in anything, so I think it will be OK for the ride home and the big trip.
