Final location: Fletcher, OK; Final odometer: 17,602; Total miles: 1277.0.
I finally went to bed around 2, local time and got shocked awake by more truck noise. Oh well, I can nap until 6 AM. Packing up took almost as long as setting up. Now the stupid tent won't fit back in the bag. It seems like everything in the trailer is expanding. I have to put the sleeping bag under the T-Bag on the back seat. Got rolling around 7:20 - looked like rain, so I put some gear on.
Crossing over into Arkansas, I decided to get the gear off - no rain materialized. That's good, I guess. But it kept getting hotter and hotter. I stopped for gas and a drink early in Oklahoma and parked over at the diesel pumps, they weren't busy and it was the only shade around. Hopefully, the rest of the scenery is better than this...
The trailer was still doing good after about 1000 miles, everything was holding fast. No troubles so far other than a shattered lens on the fog lights I had just installed. Caught a stone somewhere along the way. FIgures.
I got to Margot and Scott's pretty late. It was a squirrelly ride in on some gravel and then up the hill and on the grass - but I made it! It was really nice to just sit and have a beer and chat. Oh yes, I tested out the new Hacienda Commode for Margot and Scott - where's the picture!?
Brian and Tina and Robert were already there. Scott made us some gourmet burgers, we had more beer, Brian and Tina left, we had more beer. Chatted. And then bunked down for the night.
The new hacienda is huge. It will be a great space when it is all done. Who knew you had to be a welder for home improvement?
