Day 9

Only about 50 miles or so today. Half of that on a new tire.

Mike was up early and had made a wonderful pot of coffee, the first good coffee I had all week. I could have slept more but my sleep was pretty good so up and at 'em! We chatted over coffee for a bit and planned out the day. He was heading to SCP to have his clutch looked at. I called SCP and my tire would not likely be there before 2 PM.

So, Mike left while I decided to update the blog, check some emails, etc. I'll look for a place to do laundry, stop at Wally World for a few things and then head over to Capt'n John's to mingle.

I called SCP just after 2 and my shiny new tire was in. I still had a chill from the night before and this knot in my neck was really getting to me (I hope the masseuse is at the other hotel tomorrow) but headed up to Reedsport toot sweet. Guy and crew got the tire on with no issues. Way to go SCP!

The ride back was nice as I had warmed up good by standing in the sun with my coat on while the boys worked away in their short sleeves. The young helper, Coty, was working on a 1980 Yamaha XS1100 Special - I used to own a 1981 and thought I still had the manual. Hopefully, I can get it to Coty to help him with his project bike. Those were nice bikes.

I stopped at a spot just before Haynes Inlet and took a picture of the McCollough Bridge which spans Coos Bay (the body of water, not the town).

While returning the camera to its bag in the trunk, I realized that the Oregonian beer I had stocked up on fit quite nicely in the trunk. Just take out the camera bag, add a drain plug and...

I did a drive-by viewing to see if Mike's Classic was at the house and since it wasn't, I headed to Capt'n John's for the buffet (at the Portside Restaurant, 63383 Kingfisher Rd., Charleston, OR) with the group. Afterward, it was back to the beach house for a chat or two, out to the parking lot for a beer and more chatting with others then Mike and I decided that the next beer should be back at the house and off we went.

Until tomorrow...
